Real Teardown Comparison: What We Actually Found Inside
Beyond the spec sheet, Ban Leng physically opened up both outdoor units side by side to compare three parts that matter most for long-term reliability. Here's what we found:
1. Flare Valve (Refrigerant Piping Connection)
The flare valve on an outdoor aircond unit is essential, as it connects the refrigerant piping — its protection directly impacts system sealing and long-term stability. Both AUX and Hisense provide proper safeguards for this part, so this is a tie.
2. Temperature Sensor
A temperature sensor on the outdoor unit monitors operating conditions to prevent damage from overheating or overcooling. In our teardown, Hisense's outdoor unit clearly has this sensor fitted; we could not confirm the same dedicated sensor on the AUX unit we opened.
3. IC Board Protection
The IC board is essentially the "brain" of the aircond and one of its most expensive parts to replace. Hisense's outdoor IC board is sealed in a dedicated protective box that blocks out water, dust, and even lizards — the AUX unit we opened did not have the same sealed enclosure.
| Priority | Better Fit |
|---|---|
| Quiet, energy-efficient, dependable support | Aux |
| Faster cooling, smart app control | Hisense |
With both brands priced similarly, your decision should be based on your lifestyle and what features matter most to you. Whether it's energy savings, smart control, or cooling speed, understanding these differences will help you select the right aircond for your home.
